Lovable Losers

I would love to post something beautiful today,  a Friday.

I would have liked to post something positive yesterday, Thursday.

But,

My heart is heavy

And

My emotions shattered.

The CUBS,

My Lovable Losers are

Down 2 games to none in the Play-offs

If they lose Saturday, then I will need sometime

To recover…

  1. Robin Said,

Hi Chris - I’m sorry but I don’t know anything about American sport (like what sort of sport the Cubs is) - but I want to wish them and you good luck.

i understand the heaviness in your heart, chris.
being from toronto, we have the leafs……sigh
never have they won the stnaley cup in my life.
no matter how many times i sat cross legged with fingers and toes also crossed……they never made it……

reading your post brings back all of that emotion….

be well and take all the time you need,

    storm

  1. badgerbrent Said,

The frustration and anger over these games that I feel is not healthy. I think I have to move out of Chicago, and if we elect Palin to be 2nd in line to the President, I may have to move out of the country.

  1. Dot Said,

I sure hope they turn it around! If not, at least you can celebrate how far they’ve come, right?

  1. M Said,

Minnesota didn’t have a winner until the Twins in ‘87 prior to that 4 super bowl losses, 2stanley cup losses, and 2 world series losses. Ok not quite as bad…..yes it is frustrating!

  1. Hi Chris - I’ve got to say the pic you used was hilarious. I know how you feel - my husband is like that when his favourite team lose. But don’t forget - losing is good - it often gives folk the motivation to go on to greater things.

  1. I hope they win. :)

  1. Lance Said,

Hey, up here to the north of Chicagoland…I’m not so concerned with the Cubs right now…it’s OUR beloved Brewers…down two games to none. I’m fine with the Cubs winning…as long as the Brewers do too! That’d make for a great NLCS….

  1. Mike Goad Said,

I’ve never been a die-hard fan of any sport. I’m the type of person that would go way overboard and get over stressed if MY team wasn’t winning. That’s not the main reason I don’t pay much attention to sports…, but it’s a darned good one.

That being said, I hope that they do better!

  1. Marelisa Said,

If I had to pick a sport to follow, it would be baseball. But seeing as how there’s no reason why have to follow a sport, I don’t :-) I’m sorry you’re upset about the Cubs though.

  1. MammaDawg Said,

Oh… I am SO bad with sports. I only ever catch a bit of whatever Hubz may be watching…

So how did the game go today???

  1. RC Said,

I don’t really do much for baseball, but I do know how this feels in the terms of football. (I’m a Packer fan. Do you really want to talk about how many years I had to wait to see a championship of any sort? And now, my beloved Brett is no longer with us, so I’m half-heartedly cheering for the Jets, as well…)

My condolences. I will hope for the best on Saturday.

  1. B. Wilde Said,

Chris, I have empathy for you, but I sure hope you’re not like my brother-in-law. He’s so obsessed with his college football team that if they lose it affects his marriage. He becomes depressed, angry and makes his wife miserable for 3-4 days. Hope you’re able to snap out of it.

  1. B. Wilde, I used to be exactly like your brother-in-law. What cured me was a decade of my favorite team having mediocre seasons. After a while I just go used to it, so the highs weren’t as high and the lows weren’t as low.
